Psd Tutorial Demo

If you download the psd at the bottom of this tutorial, you can follow it through step-by-step.

Getting Started:

To be able to read any psd tutorial posted here on Solidsnake Designs, you must first enable extras in Photoshop. This is done simply by clicking on the View button in the menu, and selecting Extras. (Ctrl + H)

As you may have noticed, all the tutorials here are based inside Photoshop itself. This is simply because it makes the whole thing easier to navigate, and easier to understand. It is also a good prevention of ripping. When submitting a tutorial you do not need to have it in this format, as one of the staff here will do it for you.

Walkthrough:

After making sure you have enabled extras, open up which ever tutorial you have downloaded. For the purpose of keeping things simple, the psd included with this doesn't contain any images other than a different coloured background for each step. The coloured backgrounds are used to show which layer you have visible in this tutorial, but with a normal tutorial there would be an image showing you what to do on that step. The first thing you will see after enabling extras is the notes at the bottom of your tutorial. These are required, and if you want your image to turn out right, you'll need to read them all in order:

The order in which they need to be read is from left to right. (Red to blue) The other thing you have probably noticed is the coloured layers:

Each layer is colour coded to match the step you are up to. To read the step you need, you must first make sure the step layer that you are on is the top most visible layer. (The layers are in order from the first step on the bottom to the last on the top, so you never need to move any) E.g. You are on Step One (the red layer) so you only have the step one layer visible. Once you move onto step two, you simply make the step two layer (orange) visible. It is on top by default. Once you have your layer visible and on top, open up the note with the matching colour by double clicking on it:

As you can see this brings up the instructions to follow. At the bottom of each step there is a small description reminding you to unhide the next layer to reveal the next step. To close the description box simply click on the square in the top right of it. Continue through each step this way; making the layer visible for the step you're on, and opening the corresponding coloured note. Eventually you will get onto the last step:

You now know how to use the tutorials, so good luck, and start creating!
